Daby Toure: DIAM!

[DIAM]
01 Iris - Iris is a song about those who've been deprived of their freedom. It's written in an imaginary language: I want to leave and fly far away, towards freedom.
02 Mi Wawa - It's important respect your own roots, just as it is to embrace those of others.
03 Dendecuba - A homage to my ancestors and my grandparents on both sides.
04 Yaw - A man puts all his faith into his relationship with a woman. She ends up betraying him.
05 Kelimanta - Two young people are attracted to one other, but their shyness threatens to spoil everything.
06 Mi Malama - A man declares his happiness; about being born in Fouta and seeing the sun rise, about greeting the rainy season and seeing his herd grow, and about being amongst his own people.
07 Mansa - Mansa means 'king'. Almani Samory Toure was a noble Emperor who defended his people against the invader. His empire was called Le Wasoulou.
08 Hammadi - A homage to Hammadi Tene, a great dancer who made us dream when we were young.
09 Hassina - A friend sings to try and reunite a couple who are going through difficult times.
10 Wadiur - At home in Mauritania, parents are sacred and we owe them love and tenderness. This song speaks to those who leave and forget their family.
11 Bary - Bary is a shepherd. He worries for both his family and his herd as the rains don't always come when hoped for.
12 I Dagua - In life, I've seen important people praised and worshipped and today they have disappeared. Be good to the people who are around you, and to the world in general, not just those with influence, as you never know what the future holds.
13 Fabe - For the children of the world, orphaned and lonely.
