Blog: Liberty of Grass-roots

Original Chinese Version Click Here

The dialogue ("Blogs appear and burst out 'coz people need to talk and share freely") between Ibuzzo and an admin-member from Blogbus, is really clear-headed and rational understanding on Blog. The orientation of Blog development is based on the needs of grass-roots, not drove by commercial profit ---- The point of view is Blogs & Bloggers exist for Liberty, perfect liberty, to think, feel, do just as one pleases (William Hazlitt) .

The discussion focused on points as below:

1. Blog Service would bring great commercial value

That's the key point. Profit-hunters won't waste this chance to make big fortune. Even Bill Gates said YES to Blog, (in China sohu.com & 163.com began to provide blog service), but I never expect MS would support freedom and liberty, neither do sohu.com or 163.com. Now Blog already provided biz-pattern: technical supporting (eg: MT) or hosting service (eg: 51.net). It seems that BLOGBUS goes in the right way.

2. Can Blog Portals make profit via selling contents written by Bloggers?

Absolutely No. Some Blog Service Provider issued e-magazine already, we have no idea on whether they will sale e-advertisement or sale contents to paper media.

3. Mo-Blog is the next Killer Application, just like SMS?

SMS service providers in china means cheat, trap and eroticism. The features of MMS QuickShare™ (sonyericsson) are similar with Mo-Blog, but no more a Junk Killer like SMS.

4. Blog or Bo-Ke (pinyin)

No need to replace Blog with Chinese characters.

5. Uncared-for Creative Commons Licence

Most Blog Service Providers in China remove CC Logo, that means Bloggers' article are not protected by CC License. I hope these BSPs would fully understand "Bloggers are Not Free-of-charge Columnists".
